The Desktop Heads of Easter Island
Running Press Mini Kits
Posted by Germy | 4th July 2010
Following on from my review of the Build
Your Own Stonehenge review, I was given a set of the Easter Island
heads also from Running Press as a gift.

Contained in the box are 4 Easter Islands stone heads. They are made
of some kind of resin and tecnically already painted. Well they have
a grey undercoat on them. The texture of the stones is quite pitted,
I would have prefered a smoother finish on them (more like sandstone).
The sculpting is, well in line with the subject matter and all 4 heads
are slightly different.
Here is a close up of the heads. You can see how pitted they are.
But that is really my only criticism of this executive toy. That and
I suppose if you pick this kit up at full price (RRP £4.99)
then that is a £1.25 per stone head) might go against it.

However I do think this kit has merit from a gaming point of view.
You can see from the picture the tallest head is about 55mm high (the
shortest just a few millimetres shorter). They could go well as ancient
monuments in Pulp or Fantasy games.

We can see the heads here alongside an Otherworld
28mm skeleton.

Or closer to the actual size if put alongside Pendraken
10mm fantasy miniatures
