Ratte 1/720th Scale German Super Tank
Posted by Germy | 1st May 2010
While looking for various japanese style plastic robot kits I came
across this model of a proposed secret German tank from WW2. I thought
it had some good potential so took a chance on it.

As you can see the model came fairly complete with just one sprue
containing the ariel mast and extra gun turrets. Should also say the
model comes pre-painted in a fairly simple but effective scheme. The
model is 45mm long, 20mm wide and 32mm high (including mast).
The underside of the model showing the four tracks in detail.

Here is the model after I had put all of the guns on it. You get a
few spare guns in case you want a different configuration on the tank.
But to be honest the guns only really fit in the configuration shown.

The detail on the model is very good, you can see in the picture various
ladders, stairs, panels and even the rivets.

To help with the scale of the model it's shown here with an 2mm scale
French Ironclad miniature from Brigade
Models

and here with a 6mm infantryman also from Brigade
Models.
Overall the model is very good and would work well for either Victorian
Sci-Fi games or to repaint it as a 2mm-6mm Sci-Fi tank, but it is
not currently in production and so availability is via places like
Ebay and more often than not from suppliers in Japan.
