Welcome to GermsWorld 2mm Sci-Fi Gallery Showcase
When these 2mm miniatures first came out I painted them up in very bright cartoonish colours to go with the style of the miniatures. You can see what I mean here. But for sometime now people have asked to see the 2mm sci-fi miniatures I produced painted up in camo or more realistic shades of colour.
I have also recently witnessed yet another debate on The Miniatures Page about why people bother with very small scale miniatures. So as well as painting the miniatures up again I mounted them on standard 30mm hexagonal bases (plastic ones from EM4 miniatures) and added a little bit of scenery. I'm sure you'll agree with me that these miniature have plenty of detail and that you can recognise what the miniatures are!

All the miniatures are produced by Ground Zero Games and sculpted by me of MiniGerm

So I finally finished my 2mm Dropship mini diorama.
Here we have the larger of the two dropships I made complete with no less than three combat walkers and a squad of six infantry. Remember this whole scene is on just three 30mm hex bases.
All I can say is people really need to start playing Mech type games in 2mm :)

First up we have a heavy tracked tank and medium walker.
For these I went for a rocky desert look for the base complete with craters and the odd rock or two.
Not wanting the miniatures to blend in too much I went for a darker brown than the base. This colour scheme was a simple brown undercoate, inked brown and then highlighted with a lighter brown. I then picked out some areas like the tank tracks, gun barrel and parts of the walkers legs and painted them black with a silver highlight to give a metalic look.
Detailing of the identification letters and numbers was done last.
Next up I went for total desert and managed a rather groovy desert camo scheme for the medium hover tank. The infantry are the 2mm robot infantry also painted in camo. You can just about make out the rank stripe on the leader middle infantry figure :)
Keeping with the desert theme here is a picture of the first dropship i made delivering a squad of marines also in desert camo.
Another angle of the base showing the infantry in more detail. Also shows the numbering I put on the dropship. Not bad for a model that's 13mm long and 8mm high!
Here we have the smaller of the two sphere style dropships I made with robot infantry disembarking. I painted the dropship in a nice metallic grey thinking that there was little point in trying to camouflage a huge orbital dropship!
Here I decided to group together a little armoured formation on a base. Three medium ACV tanks advance over a crater marked landscape.

I also wanted to move to more traditional green camo patterns for these tanks. This base shows just what is possible with 2mm miniatures in representing an armoured unit in hex based wargames.
More 2mm miniatures coming soon, including an Airbase diorama and a massive dropship delivering a squad of walkers!
